DOB's Homeowner's Customer Service Night events are cancelled until further notice.
DOB has bi-weekly online Q&A Sessions for property owners, registered design professionals, filing representatives and other licensees/registrants. These sessions provide a virtual space for attendees to ask job specific questions for filings in DOB NOW, the Buildings Information System (BIS), or general questions about permits, Construction Codes, Zoning Regulations, sign offs, certificates of occupancy, place of assembly, equipment installations, violations and civil penalties, etc.

The Department of Buildings (DOB) hosts Homeowners Night every Tuesday, from 4 PM – 7 PM, at each of their Borough Offices. No appointment is necessary.
Homeowners, tenants, small business owners, and building managers are welcome. DOB staff, including Plan Examiners, Inspectors, and others will be available to answer questions and provide information on:
- Home renovation or construction projects
- Open violations on a property
- DOB's online resources, including DOB NOW and the Building Information System (BIS)
- Permits, construction codes, zoning regulations, certificates of occupancy, equipment installations, and more
