Your doctor can also provide counseling to help you quit smoking.
The Health Department doesn't accept complaints about doctors who refuse to prescribe smoking cessation medication.

Benefits
Patients enrolled in Medicaid, including Medicaid Managed Care and Family Health Plus, can receive the following benefits per year:
- Up to six months of smoking cessation medications, including nicotine replacement therapy, Zyban (bupropion), and Chantix (varenicline)
- Six sessions of either individual or group counseling
Prescriptions are required for all smoking cessation medications, including over-the-counter nicotine patches and gum.
