Business owners and owners' representatives can schedule a mechanical sprinkler or standpipe inspection by downloading and submitting an inspection request form.

During an inspection, a New York City Fire Department representative is on site to witness and sign-off on the suppression system test done by your Master Fire Protection Piping Contractor or Master Plumber.

Master Fire Protection Piping Contractors and Master Plumbers are qualified to perform the following types of suppression system tests.

Master Fire Protection Piping Contractor (A or B License)

• Sprinkler (Siamese) - hydrostatic
• Dry valve (trip test)
• Residential sprinkler flow test
• Standpipe flow and pressure test

Master Plumber

• Standpipe flow and pressure test
• Residential sprinkler flow test

Cost

To have a New York City Fire Department representative on site to witness the test will cost the following:

• Residential sprinkler flow test - $105 for each flow
• Sprinkler connection (Siamese) hydrostatic test - $320 for the first connection and $275 for each additional connection
