Effective January 2022, New York State selected the General Educational Development (GED) Test to replace the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) Test as the primary pathway to a High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma for students who left high school without graduating.

The Young Adult Literacy Program provides youths and young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 with pre-GED instruction and support services tailored to their interests, needs, and age level.

This program is available at community-based organizations and local public libraries throughout New York City.
