Child care centers must follow strict safety guidelines including:
- Social distancing
- Daily health screenings
- Frequent cleanings and disinfection
In addition, face coverings are required for children over the age of 2 and all staff in child care settings serving children ages 4 and younger, including 5 year-olds who may be in those classrooms, except when eating, drinking, showering, swimming, or sleeping. Face coverings are optional for child care classrooms serving only children ages 5 and older.
The Department of Health will inspect programs to verify compliance.
