You can report odors or vapors coming into a residence or business from a nearby dry cleaning business or a smell directly outside a dry cleaning business.

You should provide the exact street address and name of the dry cleaner causing the odors.

To report a smell directly outside a dry cleaning business, you must provide your contact information so the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) can contact you, if necessary. DEP cannot action the Service Request without it.

Report dry cleaning odor:

If you live near a dry cleaner, you may be exposed to dry cleaning chemicals that could affect your health. The most common chemical is PERC.

The Health Department offers free home air testing to residents who live near a dry cleaner to make sure that the PERC level in their home is below the Health Code limit.  If the test results are higher than the limit, the Health Department will take action to enforce the law.
