Safe, temporary shelter is available to young people in crisis. Runaway or homeless youth under the age of 21 can also be admitted to residential programs.
Pregnant young women and young people under 21 with children are also eligible for crisis shelter and residential programs.
Services for sexually-exploited youth and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth are also available.
These services are funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). They are free and are considered a voluntary placement. Transportation to a drop-in center or crisis shelter can be arranged.
